1-Curriculum. With the impending implementation of common core, our district is in the process of updating our curriculum to ensure our students are college and career ready.
2-Finance. With the uncertainty about the cost shift of pensions from the state to the district, the district must be prepared financially to handle the potential cost shift.
3-Communication. Considering all the future changes, the district needs to be able to keep in contact and communicate with it's community stakeholders about achievements, progress towards goals and success stories."
With state funding always hanging in the balance, do you have any ideas for alternative revenue sources?
Since state funding has been getting lower each year, it is important to search out any other sources. One source that our district has used in the past and will continue to use is grants from various sources.
What can the district do to improve test scores and curriculum?
Our administrative team as well as teachers and support staff have been given the task to totally transform the education process due to common core. I am confident that they are up to the challenge and will be able to adapt to the new curriculum and the end result will be students who are ready for college and careers in the future.
