'Fighting Fire' Presents Evolution of Downers Grove Fire Department

An exhibit showcasing the history and evolution of the Downers Grove Fire Department will open this month at the Downers Grove Museum.
The exhibit opening for “Fighting Fire: History of the Downers Grove Fire Department” takes place Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fighting Fire will be displayed at the museum from Jan. 24 to May 30. It shows how the fire department has chanced since it opened in 1898 while highlighting notable members and telling of past fires in Downers Grove, according to the Downers Grove Park District.

Exhibitions are displayed in the Coachhouse. They are open during Public Tour Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
