'Gone In 90 Seconds:' Police Release Video of Neiman Marcus Smash-and-Grab At Oakbrook Center
Video shows four people in masks and gloves smashing their way into store and filling garbage bins with purses and sunglasses.

Burglars bashed their way into an Oakbrook Center store and filled two large, plastic garbage bins with thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise early Tuesday morning.
Oak Brook police responded to an activated burglar alarm around 4:22 a.m. at Neiman Marcus, 6 Oakbrook Center. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered broken exterior glass on the south side of the building.

A perimeter was set up around the building and a police search dog was brought in, but by then the burglars had already left.
Store security video shows four masked people smashing the windows with a pick ax and entering the store with two large, plastic garbage bins. The people quickly load up the bins with purses and sunglasses before fleeing the store.

Police said the purported smash-and-grabbers got away with about $50,000 in merchandise and were in the store for a total 90 seconds.
A gang of smash-and-grab burglars drove a van through the front windows of Oakbrook Center’s Louis Vuitton store on Sept. 7, 2014, grabbing 50 pieces of merchandise valued at $120,000.
