Woodridge Suspends Water Disconnections Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Woodridge officials said, "Ensuring access to clean water is vital to public health and hand washing."

WOODRIDGE, IL — The village of Woodridge has suspended water disconnections and associated late fee penalties until further notice. Mayor Gina Cunningham made the announcement Tuesday "[t]0 protect the health, safety, and well-being of [the] community" as coronavirus fears lead to restaurant closures, school closures and other changes throughout the U.S.

Cunningham added that the village wants residents to feel "more secure and not have to

worry about an additional financial burden for a necessary resource, like water."
