Glitter, Apples, Rocks Used In Property Damage: Yorkville Police

YORKVILLE, IL —
Saturday, July 28
Accident with injury
Yorkville Police Department officials reported Jessica R. Welling, of the 800 block of Main Street, was driving northbound on McHugh Road at 11:50 a.m., July 28, when Megghun Redmond, of the 800 block of Shagbark Lane, North Aurora, was pulling out of the driveway at 806 McHugh and hit Welling's car. According to police, Redmond said she couldn't see around a tree. Her 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer hit Welling's 2015 Toyota Prius, leading to both cars being towed from the scene. Police reported Redmond sustained a minor cut to her leg and was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center. No citations were issued.

Criminal damage to property
Yorkville police responded to a report of criminal damage to property at a home on the 2200 block of Cryder Court at 1:15 a.m., July 29. That's where police say rocks and apples were thrown at a victim's home during the night, causing damage to a window screen and a piece of vinyl siding. Police reported damage is valued at $600.

Monday, July 30
Vending machine damage, robbery
Yorkville police responded to a report of theft from a coin operated machine at 634 West Veterans Parkway on July 30. That's where police say an unknown person took six to 10 bottled beverages from inside a vending machine which was also found damaged. According to police, damage is valued at $1000, and includes three panes of the machine's glass.
Criminal damage to property
Yorkville police say they responded to the 200 block of Hydraulic Street at 5:12 p.m., July 30, for a report of criminal damage to property. When police arrived, they reported finding paint, glue and glitter were thrown all over city property.
