Update: Aurora Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 12-Year-Old

Patrick A. Loza, 22, found with child in vehicle near Sunflower Court and Walsh Drive, according to police.

A 12-year-old girl voluntarily met a 22-year-old Aurora man charged with several sex crimes after police found them in a SUV near a Yorkville park early Tuesday, said Yorkville Deputy Police Chief Don Schwartzkopf.

Patrick A. Loza, of the 400 block of Grand Avenue, was charged with four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with that incident, Schwartzkopf said. He said Loza first met the Yorkville area girl online.

“He did not pick her up on the street,” Schwartzkopf said.

A Yorkville police officer saw the pair engaged in a sex act in a white SUV parked near a park at Sunflower Court and Walsh Drive about 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, police said. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office then became involved with the investigation, which continues.

“I do not know if there are going to be further charges,” Schwartzkopf said.

Loza remained in Kendall County jail Friday afternoon on $250,000 bail. To be released while the charges are pending, he would have to post 10 percent of that, or $25,000.

The most serious charge he faces is a Class X felony, which typically is punishable by between six and 30 years in prison. Probation is not an option.
