YORKVILLE, IL — In an effort to make sure businesses are complying with tobacco laws, Yorkville police conducted tobacco compliance checks Feb. 23 on local businesses using underage agents.

All businesses in the United City of Yorkville that are licensed to sell tobacco products were checked and all businesses were found to be in compliance of local ordinances and laws, according to a release from the Yorkville Police Department.

“The Yorkville Police Department will be conducting tobacco compliance checks throughout the year and hopes to reduce violations through enforcement education of licensees,” the release said.
