City Of Carmel Shares 2017 Year In Review

City of Carmel's 2017 highlights and accomplishments include:

CARMEL, IN -- The City of Carmel is sharing their 2017 Year in Review, which includes noticeable achievements and highlights from last year throughout the community. The city says they want to share the reflection of the year that just past as they move through the first quarter of 2018. The best highlights were shared in a Twitter post Monday afternoon.

2017 City of Carmel highlights include:

  • New population number from US Census American Fact Finder: 95, 170
  • America's "Best City to Live in" according to 24/7 Wall Street
  • $27 million for end of the year balance
  • 13 roundabouts added, making the city's total 115
  • 16 organizations and company expansions or relocation
  • More than 1,600 jobs added
  • City-wide recycling increased to weekly pickup
  • Took the pledge in the Campaign to Change Direction on Mental Health
  • 150,000 visitors to Carmel Christkindlmarket; more than 16,000 ice skaters at Ice at the Center Green from Nov. 19 to Dec. 24.
