ACROSS INDIANA -- An Indiana Senate candidate whose criticized an opponent for being a "Never Trumper" spoke out against the future president during a 2016 interview, AP News reports. Republican Todd Rokita has centered his Senate campaign on appeal to Indiana Trump voters, as he's known to carry a cardboard cutout of Trump to campaign rallies, the news report says, adding Rokita even wears one of Trump's "Make America Great Again" hats in a recent TV campaign ad.
According to AP News, Rokita had harsh words for the then-presidential candidate during a Feb. 2016 interview with WXIN, where he described Trump as someone who is "vulgar, if not profane," in addition to saying he supported Republican candidate Marco Rubio.

Rokita will run against U.S. Rep. Luke Messer and former state Rep. Mike Braun in the 2018 May primary.
