Iris Seabolt exonerated after 19 years behind bars for murder she didn't commit (wsbt.com) — An Elkhart murder case from more than 20 years ago has ended with full exoneration for Iris Seabolt, who spent nearly 19 years in prison for the killing of A.J. Williams at an Elkhart restaurant. Newly surfaced evidence about an Elkhart detective’s misconduct, recanted jailhouse informant testimony, and a long-hidden interrogation tape led a special prosecutor to drop the charges and prompted calls to review other cases he handled.
   

2. What concerts are happening in the South Bend area from Sept. 7 to 13? (southbendtribune.com) — Elkhart residents have a full slate of live music this week, from a free Curbside Concert at the Elkhart Public Library to the all-day Island of Blues Festival at Island Park and the Elkhart County Symphony’s outdoor season opener at Wellfield Botanic Gardens. Most events encourage lawn chairs or blankets, and some include food trucks, beer gardens, and ticketed admission.

Two dead after vehicle rear-ends motorcycle in Elkhart County (wsbt.com) — Two people were killed late Saturday when a vehicle rear-ended their motorcycle at State Road 13 and County Road 148 in Elkhart County, sending them into a field. Both riders, from Ligonier, died at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle was uninjured and taken for a blood draw as investigators work to determine what happened.
