Fishers Elementary School completes $45 million renovation (youarecurrent.com) — Fishers Elementary School has finished a three-year, $45 million renovation that expanded classrooms, improved security, and eased traffic around the Lantern Road campus, all while staying open through construction. Staff say the brighter, more flexible spaces are already changing how students learn, and longtime HSE families are celebrating the school's "new chapter" while honoring more than a century of history on the site. 
2. E. coli Advisory Issued for Geist Waterfront Park (larryinfishers.com) — The Fishers Health Department has issued a public health advisory after unsatisfactory E. coli levels were detected at Geist Waterfront Park, potentially affecting anyone planning to swim or wade there. Residents are urged to check current beach status with Fishers Parks, avoid swallowing water, and stay out if they have open cuts, as runoff after heavy rains often drives these recurring bacteria spikes in local waterways.

Fishers Freight Bring Back Dixie Wooten for 2027 — and Wooten Opens With a Message on the Floods (larryinfishers.com) — Fishers Freight are bringing back head coach and GM Dixie Wooten for the 2027 Indoor Football League season, aiming to turn last year's near-miss into a championship run at Fishers Event Center. Before celebrating his extension, Wooten publicly focused on supporting Indiana communities recovering from this month's historic flooding, praising neighbors and first responders and promising fans a team they can be proud of.
4. Lawmaker urges state to suspend Medicaid terminations amid flood recovery (wishtv.com) — A Fishers state representative is urging Indiana leaders to pause Medicaid terminations for residents hit hardest by this month's flooding, so people don't lose coverage over missing paperwork or delayed assessments. She's asking Gov. Braun and FSSA to extend deadlines, allow phone or video evaluations, and seek federal waivers, arguing disaster-struck Hoosiers deserve the same protections already given for private insurance.

I didn't think we had Bald Eagles in Indiana, only the 2nd time I have seen one here in my lifetime, always a beautiful majestic bird. (Nextdoor Sawgrass) - What a cool morning this is.
