Revving Up Fun at Heritage Pointe of Huntington’s 5th Annual Fall Car Cruise-In
Heritage Pointe of Huntington senior living community’s residents, families, and friends were in the driver’s seat for a day of fun last weekend as the community hosted its 5th Annual Fall Car Cruise-In. The sunshine and autumn air made for perfect cruising weather as 15 classic cars rolled in and stole the show.
Crowds admired the shiny chrome, swapped stories, and tapped their toes as musician Alan Schaffer entertained with a lineup of classic car tunes and favorite sing-alongs. No cruise-in would be complete without some fuel for the crowd. The fare included pulled pork sandwiches and macaroni salad, followed by a sweet finish of apple dumplings topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Two special awards capped off the day. The Resident Choice Award, given in memory of past resident Bob Atkinson, went to Gene and Beth Kline for their sleek 2006 Thunderbird. The People’s Choice Award revved up excitement when Tom Raber’s 1967 Chevy C10 Truck took the win.
“This event always brings our community together,” said Brad Fuller, Activity Director at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. “It’s not just about the cars. It’s about the joy, the memories, and the chance to enjoy the ride together.”
