Man charged for role in series of shootings into Fort Wayne homes (wane.com) — Fort Wayne police have charged a 20-year-old man with criminal recklessness after more than 50 shots were fired into a southeast-side home in April, tying him to the case through ballistics, license plate readers, and social media. Investigators say the shooting may be linked to an earlier incident and possible retaliation involving a teen previously charged in another Fort Wayne case.

Fort Wayne releases opioid awareness PSAs (fortwaynesnbc.com) — Fort Wayne officials have launched new opioid awareness PSAs to warn residents that even a single pill can be deadly and to encourage parents to talk openly with their kids. 5. East State neighborhoods project gets $1 million from Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission (journalgazette.net) — Fort Wayne's Redevelopment Commission has approved $1 million to upgrade the East State corridor, with new streetscapes, sidewalks, lighting and safer crosswalks from Kentucky Avenue to Florida Drive. The project ties into a planned "road diet" on East State Boulevard and follows extensive neighborhood input, including traffic and safety concerns near Forest Park Elementary. Construction is set to begin this fall and finish next fall.
