• Frankfort Parents Arrested After 9-Year-Old Found Malnourished and Seriously Injured (clintoncountydailynews.com) — Frankfort police have arrested two local parents after a 9-year-old was found malnourished, badly bruised and with multiple fractures, first treated at IU Health Frankfort Hospital and later transferred to Indianapolis. Prosecutors have filed serious felony neglect charges, other children were removed but found healthy, and investigators say food was allegedly withheld as punishment while the child now recovers in stable condition.
   

• The City of Frankfort Launches 'Operation Refresh' Campaign to Pave Roads and Beautify Local Corridors (clintoncountydailynews.com) — Frankfort is about to roll out its multi-phase “Operation Refresh” project, repaving key neighborhood streets and tightening code enforcement to clean up properties at the same time. Work starts in October on Walsh Avenue and then moves through a long list of city streets, so residents should watch for notices, temporary lane closures, and updates on the Street Department’s Facebook page.
   

• SEA 1 property tax law forces Frankfort to make difficult budget decisions (wthr.com) — Frankfort leaders are warning that a new state property tax law could force the city to cut $5–5.5 million over three years, potentially affecting staffing and services. Mayor Judy Sheets and Police Chief Scott Shoemaker say they’ll first scrutinize projects and equipment, but acknowledge police positions and school resource officer funding could eventually be on the table if revenues don’t improve.
