IMPD Detectives Investigating North Side Shooting After Man Found Dead

IMPD said detectives are searching for evidence after a man was found shot on North Tacoma Avenue

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said detectives with their Homicide Unit are investigating a shooting on the city's north side that left one man dead. IMPD said officers were called to the 4000 block of N. Tacoma Avenue just after 5 a.m. Wednesday on reports of a person down. IMPD reports the male was found outside of a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene by Indianapolis EMS.

IMPD said Homicide detectives and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency are investigating this incident and continuing to search for evidence.

This shooting happened just three days after another man was shot and killed on the city's north side in Wes Montgomery Park.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
