ISP Gives Update In Number Of Delphi Murders Case Tips
Police caution social media users when it comes to commenting about the Delphi murders case after recent sketch of suspect was released.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indiana State Police Sergeant Tony Slocum, Public Information Officer for the Peru District, updated the public Monday morning on the number of tips police have recently received in the Feb. 2017 Delphi murders case.
"Approx 3000 new tips for Abby/Libby since release of sketch, total tips approx 24000, u have info call 844-459-5786," Sgt. Tony Slocum tweeted on his page, @ISPPeru. This update came nearly one month after police released the sketch of the suspect in the Delphi Murders case on July 17, 2017.

Just days after officials released a sketch of the suspect in the Delphi Murders case, Indiana State Police are asking people to use the investigation's tip phone line or email when it comes to sharing any information, instead of social media. ISP officials are taking to Twitter to tell people where they can leave their anonymous tips should they know anything about the man depicted in the sketch.
ISP First Sgt. Rich Myers Social, @ISPmyers tweeted, "Social media tips may not be seen. May do more harm than good. Leave it here. Tips 844.459.5786 or abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com." In a previous tweet, Myers posted an update of how many tips officials received since the sketch was released on July 17, "500 new tips in #Delphi murders since Monday's release of sketch of a person of interest. Tips 844.459.5786 or abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com." The sketch depicts the man officials believe is the person of interest in the February 2017 Delphi murders of 14-year-old Liberty Rose Lynn "Libby" German and 13-year-old Abigail J. "Abby" Williams. The Delphi teens were reported missing Feb. 13 and their bodies were found near Delphi's Historic Trails on Feb. 14.
