Tip in Delphi Homicides Investigation Leads to Arrest In 2007 Cold Case
39-year-old David Sellers was brought in for questioning in Delphi murders investigation and confessed to murdering his uncle, police said.

LOGANSPORT, IN — A Logansport man is expected to appear in court Friday after a tip in the Delphi double homicide case led to his confession in a 2007 murder, WLFI reports. Kevin S. Sellers, 39, is being held without bond at the Cass County Jail, facing a Level 1 felony charge in the murder of his uncle, 50-year-old David E. Sellers, the news source reports. According to WLFI, a probable cause affidavit and murder charge were filed against Sellers Thursday, a day after he was brought in for questioning on an unrelated matter.
On Nov. 8, 2007, Cass County Sheriff officials were dispatched to the home Kevin Sellers and his uncle shared in the 1100 block of North County Road 600 E., where they found David Sellers in his bed with a gunshot wound to the head. WLFI reports Kevin Sellers was interviewed at the time and no charges were filed.
According to WLFI, members of the multi-agency "Sellers Cold Case Team" continued meeting about the case for several years. Prosecutors say Sellers was first questioned about the Delphi killings, but was then confronted with evidence gathered in the ongoing investigation into the death of David Sellers, after which he stated, “I surrender," detailing how he shot his uncle at "David's request."
David Sellers’ 2007 obituary said he was survived by “a special nephew, Kevin Sellers, Logansport.”
The affidavit says investigators established that Kevin Sellers was the sole beneficiary of David Sellers’ estate, according to WLFI.
