1. 'Quite a few years now': Central Indiana faces school bus driver shortage (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis-area school districts, including Washington Township and Indianapolis Public Schools, are facing a significant shortage of bus drivers, leaving routes uncovered and staff mechanics stepping in to drive. Washington Township alone is short about 20 drivers and is offering free CDL training, substitute positions, and a hands-on "Drive the Bus" event this Saturday. Other Central Indiana districts are also exploring schedule changes to keep students moving safely.
   

2. An Indianapolis woman set up an ice cream freezer outside her house, then got a letter from the health department (wthr.com) — In an Indianapolis neighborhood, Angie Pogue set up a self-serve ice cream freezer outside her home, asking only a dollar per treat, and quickly became a hit with local kids and grandparents. After an online complaint, the Marion County Health Department sent her a letter clarifying homestead vendor rules but issued no citation. She's now restocked the freezer and plans to keep it open until cold weather returns.
   

3. Police investigating shooting at Target store on west side of Indianapolis (fox59.com) — Indianapolis police are investigating a shooting at the Target on West 38th Street, where officers found a victim with gunshot wounds Tuesday night; that person is now in stable condition. Investigators have not yet released details on suspects or the victim's identity, and crime scene tape remained around the parking lot as they gathered evidence.
   

4. Social media influencer Precious Jewel shares Indy with followers (indystar.com) — Indianapolis residents can see their city through the eyes of influencer Precious Jewel, a finalist for Indianapolis' Top Content Creator who focuses her videos on local experiences and attractions. Posting as @themostpreciousjewel, she and her partner film around Indy while she also pursues her artwork and life at home with family.
   

5. Plants with Krystal shares a passion for plants in social media (indystar.com) — Indianapolis readers can meet local plant influencer Krystal Duran, recently named one of the city's 2026 Top Content Creators and photographed at Grounded in the Stutz Building. Her "Plants with Krystal" channels on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube spotlight plant care and lush greenery that many Indy plant lovers will recognize.
