Prosecutor To Seek Death Penalty Against Man Accused Of Killing Southport Lt. Allan

Marion County Prosecutor Tim Curry said the death penalty will be sought against 28-year-old Brown.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Marion County Prosecutor Tim Curry announced Thursday that the death penalty will be sought against the man accused of killing Southport Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Allan. Prosecutor Curry announced his office filed a request with the court citing 28-year-old Jason Brown murdered Lt. Allan July 27, while the officer was responding to the scene of a vehicle crash involving Brown. Prosecutor Curry said the next court hearing scheduled for Brown is an initial hearing on 10 a.m. Oct. 2., followed by a pre-trial conference scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 2, and a jury trial scheduled to begin Feb. 26.

Brown shot Lt. Allan almost a dozen times, including once in the heart, when the police official was assisting Homecroft Police Department Major C.T. Bowman at a car crash scene involving Brown, at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Maynard Drive.
