VIDEO: Indianapolis Fire Department Wants Information On Who Ran Over Hose At Fire Scene

Anyone with tips on driver in the video is asked to call the Indianapolis Fire Department.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis Fire Department members are constantly working hard to protect community members and our surroundings. However, someone decided to drive over an IFD hose Monday afternoon when crews were in the middle of fighting the flames inside a burning structure. IFD is asking anyone who may know information on the driver to contact the department. Here is a video and tweets posted by @IFD_NEWS Tuesday morning, showing the department's frustration, and rightfully so. IFD has corrected the location in the follow tweet, to 4219 Winding Way, not 3289 W 42nd St. as originally posted.

And an earlier tweet:

"When firefighters stopped the woman’s car, they immediately requested IMPD and when she heard that – she unapologetically sped off," IFD Battalion Chief Rita Reith, said. "She is described as a 40-ish year old white female driving a black SUV. "

Reith added the importance and the need to continue getting this message out, as crews consistently search hoses for holes because these can "wreak havoc" on firefighting efforts.

"When you do this you are endangering the very lives of the firefighters that are trying to protect your life and your property," Reith said.

Reith said the fire on Winding Way did result in a rescue where a 77-year-old male was brought out by firefighters.
