Once service returns, a boil water order will be in effect for at least 48 hours, and residents can call the Jasper Water Department with questions.

• Father John Boeglin named 2026 Hoosier German-American of the Year (duboiscountyfreepress.com) — Jasper residents can celebrate that longtime Holy Family pastor Father John Boeglin has been named the 2026 Hoosier German-American of the Year. His decades of work with Jasper's Strassenfest, the Deutscherverein, and German-language liturgies helped keep the community's German heritage vibrant and connected to international partners well into his retirement.
