The owner must fix wastewater issues, professionally treat for bed bugs, and pass health and safety inspections before anyone can return. Tenants should prepare for displacement while these conditions are addressed. 
• Starke County Declared Unauditable Over Unresolved Financial Records (wowo.com) — Starke County government, based in Knox, has been labeled “unauditable” after state reviewers said years of incomplete financial records blocked a full audit of county finances. County officials say they’re working to fix the books and hope to resolve the problems by the end of June, but it’s still unclear which departments or accounts are most affected.
• Food Bank of Northern Indiana Mobile Food Distributions for June 2026 (wimsradio.com) — Residents in and around Knox should know a free mobile food distribution is coming to Knox United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 18, serving 150 households on a first-come, first-served basis. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana also has several other June drive‑through distributions across nearby counties, all offering pre-boxed groceries for those needing food assistance.
