Tippecanoe County's community cats program aims to solve stray cat population (jconline.com) — Tippecanoe County's community cats program is reshaping how stray cats are handled in Lafayette, with most cats briefly held, fixed, and then returned where they were found. Local shelters and businesses in Greater Lafayette describe both lifesaving benefits and serious concerns, from overwhelmed rescues to injured cats like Pepperoni and adoptable pets like Suzy Q needing indoor homes.

2. West Lafayette Police Department hosting Flock camera discussion (wlfi.com) — West Lafayette residents are invited to a Sept. 22 public meeting at Margerum City Hall to question police about Flock automated license plate reader cameras and share privacy concerns. With only four cameras in West Lafayette but about 60 across Greater Lafayette and Purdue's campus, the police chief says they're used for locating suspect or missing-person vehicles and stresses officer accountability.

3. Kellogg Writers Series- Melissa Fraterrigo (uindy.edu) — A forthcoming Kellogg Writers Series event spotlights author and teacher Melissa Fraterrigo, who also leads classes at the Lafayette Writers' Studio in Lafayette. The program will explore themes from her memoir-in-essays about girlhood, body image, and raising daughters. 4. Report card grades for Purdue football's win over Indiana State (jconline.com) — Purdue football fans in West Lafayette saw the Boilermakers shake off a slow start to beat Indiana State 44–19, with quarterback Ryan Browne throwing for 317 yards and three touchdowns. The report card highlights big nights from new playmakers like Fame Ijeboi and Asaad Waseem, but also flags penalties and defensive lapses that must improve before Wake Forest on Sept. 12.
