• Dozens of dogs, cats rescued from Merrillville hoarding situation coming up for adoption (cbsnews.com) — Dozens of dogs and cats rescued from a storm-damaged Merrillville trailer are now being medically cleared and put up for adoption through Humane Indiana. Nearly 20 animals are already at the shelter waiting for new homes, with more recovering in foster care and becoming available in coming weeks. Interested Merrillville-area residents can visit the shelter or contact Humane Indiana to apply.
