• Three new restaurants coming soon to Mishawaka (wsbt.com) — Mishawaka is set to gain three new restaurants, including Dutch Bros and 7 Brew drive-thru coffee spots on North Main Street, plus an unnamed restaurant on Bremen Highway. The Mishawaka Planning Commission has already approved the projects, though construction timelines and the final restaurant tenant on Bremen are still to be announced.
   

• Mishawaka Fire Department responds to large commercial building fire (southbendtribune.com) — A large fire at the AAA Mattress and Furniture building on East McKinley Avenue brought a major response from Mishawaka firefighters and neighboring departments Tuesday evening, forcing nearby road closures. Thousands of lithium batteries inside caused loud explosions as crews worked for hours to control hotspots. Investigators are still determining the cause, with lightning during a passing storm considered a possible factor.
   

• Teen's legacy lives on through organ donation (wsbt.com) — A Mishawaka emergency room nurse is turning her son’s fatal motorcycle crash near Penn High School into a powerful message about organ donation. She’s now connected with four of the five people saved by his organs and, alongside one lung recipient, is speaking at schools statewide to encourage more Hoosiers to register as donors.
