Mishler: Communities In Senate District 9 Receive Nearly $6 million In Road-Funding Grants (timesuniononline.com) — Mishawaka is set to receive $899,550 in state matching funds to repair local roads and bridges through Indiana’s Community Crossings program. Several nearby counties and towns in Senate District 9 are also getting grants, supporting transportation networks across the region and requiring local governments to match a portion of the money for construction projects.

Annual Cops Cycling for Survivors to launch Monday, July 6 (duboiscountyfreepress.com) — Mishawaka will host riders in the 25th Annual Cops Cycling for Survivors “Ride to Remember” on July 9–10 as they travel nearly 1,000 miles honoring Indiana’s fallen officers. Residents are encouraged to line the route, attend memorial stops, and support survivors as the ride passes through town and continues on to Merrillville.
   

3. Indivisible 250: Tracing 250 years of service and sacrifice in Michiana (abc57.com) — Mishawaka’s service legacy stands out through World War II engineer Robert “Carl” McCay, Pvt. Charles Kuhl’s infamous encounter with Gen. Patton, and Gulf War veteran Jim Metherd’s work leading Mishawaka Troop Town and Get Wet for a Vet. Their stories sit alongside other Michiana veterans, tracing 250 years of local sacrifice from the Revolution to Afghanistan.
   

4. Zieglemaier New BHS Band Director (wrbiradio.com) — A Mishawaka native, Bradley Ziegelmaier, has been named the new band director at Batesville High School after previously working with their music program as a freelancer. He’ll also teach general music at Batesville Middle School, bringing experience growing band programs and deep involvement in Indiana’s school music scene. His role begins in time for summer band activities.
