• MFD dive team assists in recovery at France Park drowning (newsandreviewonline.com) — Monticello Fire Department’s Dive Team helped recover a juvenile who drowned Saturday evening at France Park in Cass County, marking the park’s third fatal drowning in about six weeks. Conservation officers say three swimmers got into deep water and bystanders could only rescue two. The swimming area is closed until further notice as the investigation and autopsy continue.
