• Colfax Corner project officially breaks ground; summer 2028 completion (southbendtribune.com) — A major new tech and innovation hub tied to the University of Notre Dame has officially broken ground at the former South Bend Tribune building, with completion expected in summer 2028. The Colfax Corner project aims to create hundreds of permanent jobs, connect Notre Dame research with local industry, and add restaurants, retail, and community space just minutes from campus.
   

• July 2026 New Employees (nd.edu) — If you work or study at Notre Dame, dozens of new faculty and staff just joined campus in July across colleges from Law and Engineering to Philosophy and Athletics. The list also includes new hires in Notre Dame Research, student services, and key academic centers that many local residents and employees interact with regularly.
   

• Care Network (nd.edu) — Researchers connected to Notre Dame are building AI tools to help South Bend residents—especially people reentering society after incarceration—more easily find social services in a confusing, resource-strapped system. Their work studies how local organizations share knowledge and explores technology that could make navigating housing, counseling, and other support far more accessible for vulnerable neighbors.
