1. People and Places: September 2026 (aacsb.edu) — Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business is overhauling its Master of Science in Management, adding new concentrations and folding in the nonprofit administration degree starting in the 2027–28 academic year. For local graduates considering a fifth year, the STEM-designated, 10‑month program will now offer more tailored paths in nonprofit leadership, technology, and strategic and financial management.
   

2. U.S. Congressmen cross the aisle at Notre Dame (ndsmcobserver.com) — Notre Dame students recently heard two alumni serving in Congress share how their campus experience shaped their public service and how they still find bipartisan common ground on hot-button issues. The panel, hosted by the Political Union at the University of Notre Dame, tackled topics from abortion and social safety nets to inflation, tariffs, AI regulation, and civic engagement.
   

3. Notre Dame ranked No. 20 by U.S. News (ndsmcobserver.com) — Notre Dame has held onto its spot among the nation's elite universities, again ranking No. 20 overall in the latest U.S. News list and earning strong marks for business, teaching, and study abroad. For local students and families, the ranking underscores the university's continued academic reputation and renewed emphasis on standardized test scores in admissions.
   

4. Graduate Student Geometry Seminar: Alejandro Lopez - University of Notre Dame (nd.edu) — A graduate geometry seminar at Notre Dame is set for Friday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. in 258 Hurley Hall, featuring Alejandro Lopez discussing level sets of harmonic maps and Stern's identity. Local students and math enthusiasts can hear a streamlined path to classic scalar curvature results and a sketch of the Positive Mass Theorem.
   

5. New minors expand access to business education (nd.edu) — If you're studying at Notre Dame, you now have many more ways to add business skills to your degree, including two new AI-focused minors. Mendoza College of Business has opened its finance and accountancy minors to all Notre Dame students, aiming to blend technical know-how, ethics, and multidisciplinary learning across campus.
