• Massive Indy 500 crowd troubles Speedway wastewater plant again (mirrorindy.org) — Speedway's wastewater plant has repeatedly exceeded ammonia limits during Indy 500 crowds, leading the town to a $14 million expansion agreement with state regulators. Residents will see sewer bills rise about $8 a month for 20 years as the town upgrades the plant to protect the White River and avoid future penalties. 
• One Speedway home, four generations of family memories (fox59.com) — A Speedway family has kept the same house near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in their hands for four generations, turning it into a race-month gathering spot for fans. The home has expanded over the decades, but its Speedway roots and traditions remain strong as hosting duties prepare to pass from mother to daughter.
• Indianapolis (purdue.edu) — Purdue is launching a free Campus Transit route on Aug. 24 that will regularly connect its Indianapolis location, 16 Tech, and the Indianapolis Motorsports Engineering program at Dallara on Main Street in Speedway. Buses will run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during semesters, giving Speedway-linked students and staff an easy new way to move between campuses.
