• Four Awards Presented At Annual Kosciusko Fire Association Dinner (timesuniononline.com) — Winona Lake residents may be especially interested that their fire department earned the 2026 Kosciusko County Attendance Award and is helping test carbon monoxide alarms for a possible countywide distribution program. At the annual Kosciusko Fire Association dinner, leaders honored a longtime Leesburg firefighter, Mentone’s firefighter of the year, and a local photographer who has long supported departments. Officials say they’re close to selecting a UL-tested alarm model for thousands of county homes.
   

• 19 apprehended in Kosciusko County Net43 drug operation (newsnowwarsaw.com) — A major countywide drug investigation involving the Winona Lake Police Department and other agencies has led to 19 arrests and several additional warrants across Kosciusko County. Most charges involve methamphetamine, cocaine, and other controlled substances, plus one firearm case. Residents are encouraged to share tips with NET 43 as officers continue searching for suspects still at large.
