The area stands out in the news surrounding Central Indiana, due to the thriving town and businesses, homes and schools or breaking news stories that have made national headlines.   • Federal and state authorities raided Subway spokesman Jared Fogle's Zionsville home in July 2015 as part of a child pornography investigation seen on every news channel. He has since been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison.
  • This year, Zionsville/Indianapolis-based pediatric rehabilitation Doctor Chuck Dietzen received the James Keller Award at the 68th annual Christopher Awards ceremony in NYC on May 16. Dietzen's book, “Pint-Sized Prophets: Inspirational Moments That Taught Me We Are All Born to Be Healers,” was also honored with a Christopher Award this year. The James Keller Award, named after The Christophers’ founder, recognizes individuals who are positively shaping the lives of children.
  • A missing Zionsville man was found dead at the end of August after officials issued a Silver Alert. 29-year-old Ryan Weisberger's body was discovered in a secluded area just south of Eagle Creek.
  • Despite crime and other heavy stories making headlines out of Zionsville, the city was ranked as one of the state's safest cities according to security company Safewise.
