The project brings vacant properties back to life, expands affordable housing in the Quad Cities, and reflects a broader commitment to welcoming new neighbors as part of the community.

Lon Glazier of Davenport, Iowa, Named to Dean's List at University of Maryland Global Campus (rcreader.com) — A Davenport student, Lon Glazier, has earned a spot on the University of Maryland Global Campus Dean's List for summer 2026, reflecting strong academic performance. To qualify, students must take at least six credits and maintain both term and cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or higher.

Alumni honored at Forty Under 40 award banquet (augustana.edu) — A Davenport Rotary social chair and three other Augustana alumni were recognized in the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal's 2026 Forty Under 40 awards, highlighting young professionals shaping the region. The banquet at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center drew over 400 attendees and celebrated both business success and community service across the metro area.
   

4. Burlington man sentenced to federal prison on firearm charges (kwqc.com) — A Burlington man has been sentenced in Davenport federal court to more than six years in prison after pulling a gun on officers and fleeing during a 2025 traffic stop. Court records say additional firearms and ammunition were later found at his residence, and he'll face three years of supervised release after serving his term.
