(iowa.gov) — Davenport educators can reserve a free, full-day science professional learning session at St. Ambrose University on Oct. 21, with lunch included. The statewide series, backed by the Iowa Department of Education and partners, offers hands-on sessions, field trip options, and strategies aligned to Iowa science standards, but registration is limited and closes Oct. 2 for the Davenport event. 
• Iowa inspectors revisit, cite dozens of restaurants for severe food-safety, mice activity (kwqc.com) — Recent state and county inspections found serious food-safety problems at several Davenport restaurants, including issues like improper food temperatures, mouse droppings and unsanitary equipment. The report also highlights similar violations in Bettendorf and other Iowa cities, giving Davenport diners important context about where inspectors required fixes, discards, or temporary closures to protect public health.
