Dubuque lands $750K grant to restore landmark buildings in city park (radioiowa.com) — Dubuque has secured a $750,000 grant to restore three historic stone buildings in Eagle Point Park, a landmark overlooking the Mississippi. The money requires a two-to-one local match, meaning the city and partners must raise $1.5 million within three years to fully unlock the funding and preserve architect Alfred Caldwell's prairie-style designs.
   

2. Homelessness quadruples in Dubuque, shelters seek $320,000 to prepare for winter (kcrg.com) — Homeless shelters in Dubuque are urgently trying to raise $320,000 by the end of October to add winter beds as unsheltered homelessness in Dubuque County has quadrupled. Opening Doors and the Dubuque Rescue Mission are seeking donations and city approvals to expand emergency space, stressing that more beds, staff, and affordable housing are critical before cold weather hits.
   

3. Radio Dubuque GM Perry Mason to Retire (radio-online.com) — Radio Dubuque's longtime general manager Perry Mason, a Hempstead High graduate and key organizer of Dubuque's Fireworks & Airshow Spectacular and Honor Flight of Dubuque and the Tri-States, is retiring after more than 40 years in local broadcasting. Co-owner Marty Schibbelhut will assume leadership of the station group that includes KATF, KDTH, WVRE, and KGRR.
   

4. Dubuque Man Who Stole Thousands of Dollars' Worth of Brass Sentenced to Federal Prison (dubuqueinpursuitnews.com) — A 54-year-old Dubuque man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for repeatedly stealing more than $64,000 in brass ingots from his Dubuque employer and selling them as scrap in East Dubuque, Illinois. Investigated by Dubuque Police, the case ended with restitution orders and three years of supervised release after prison.
   

5. Request for Proposals for Grants for Tech (Iowa) (fundsforngos.org) — Dubuque-area nonprofits without IT staff can now apply for Grants for Tech, a program backed by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and the University of Dubuque that funds technology upgrades, training, and services. Eligible 501(c)(3)s, churches, schools, and government groups can request $2,000–$10,000 by Sept. 14, with a required cash or in-kind match based on their budget size.
