Iowa City man accused of trapping woman in bedroom until she paid him (1630kcjj.com) — An Iowa City man has been charged with false imprisonment after police say he trapped a woman in his Oakcrest Street bedroom late Friday night during an argument over money. The woman told officers she felt unable to escape and was intimidated when he allegedly pointed a concealed object like a gun. A conviction could bring up to a year in jail.

Iowa City woman accused of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident (1630kcjj.com) — An Iowa City woman has been charged after Coralville police say she backed her car into a man in the Maverick parking lot on the Coralville Strip late Saturday, then left without checking on him or calling 911. The victim was hospitalized with facial and back injuries, and the 22-year-old now faces a misdemeanor charge that could bring up to a year in jail.
