• MVLCT closes 2026 season with darkly comic Skin and Bone (mvlsun.com) — Mount Vernon residents can catch the darkly comic play "Skin and Bone" at the First Street Community Center Uptown Theatre Oct. 23–24, 25, and 30–31. Presented by Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Theatre, the show explores family, belonging, and change, with evening and matinee performances and discounted tickets for students and seniors. 
• MV approves new workflow management program (mvlsun.com) — Mount Vernon's city council has approved switching its online service request system from HubSpot to iWorQ, aiming to make it easier for residents and staff to track issues like tree removal. Officials say the new program will capture contact details, improve follow-up, and roll out in early October with an annual cost of $12,000 plus a setup fee.
