• Rarity: After recent big jumps, Iowa gas prices exceed national average (kwit.org) — Gas prices in Sioux City have jumped sharply twice in recent midweeks, now reaching about $4.19 for self-serve unleaded. Those spikes helped push Iowa's average gas price slightly above the national average. State data show prices climbing steadily since July, with global tensions and blocked oil shipping routes contributing to the higher costs. 
• Siouxland truckers respond as diesel prices climb near all time high (kcau9.com) — Diesel prices have surged to around $5.20 a gallon in Iowa, and Sioux City truckers say the jump is reshaping how they drive and where they fuel up. Local drivers describe losing fuel-card flexibility, slowing down, and relying on cruise control as they try to keep freight moving without passing higher costs on to customers.
