• 16 unclaimed veterans honored in historic Iowa burial (kcci.com) — Hundreds gathered at Waukee's Lutheran Church of Hope as 16 previously unclaimed veterans were honored and then laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, with remains flown in by military helicopter. Organized by Des Moines nonprofit The Final Salute, the ceremony marked the group's 100th burial and featured tributes from community members and state leaders.
