• Hastings native named 2026 UNL homecoming royalty finalists (kgfw.com) — A Waverly student, Carson Reznicek, has been named a 2026 homecoming royalty finalist at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, giving local residents someone to cheer for in Lincoln. The winners will be chosen by student vote Sept. 30–Oct. 1 and crowned during halftime of the Oct. 3 Nebraska–Maryland football game.
