• Kansas Marks Elder Abuse Awareness Month with Fraud Prevention Events (kclyradio.com) — Garden City seniors and caregivers will have a chance this June to learn how to spot scams and protect their finances during a statewide elder abuse awareness effort. State agencies and partner organizations are offering free fraud-prevention presentations in six Kansas cities, including Garden City, with details and schedules available online.
• Wichita addiction recovery provider says $4 million grant is ‘major step' (ksn.com) — Garden City Community College in Garden City is receiving about $3.44 million from a new state Rural Health Transformation grant program, aimed at expanding behavioral health and related services in rural Kansas. The funding is part of a larger $4.29 million award to Wichita-based Recovery Unlimited and several other providers, all focused on improving access to mental health and addiction treatment across the state.
