📰 News we're reading

1. Kubota continues North America investments, first SVL75-3 compact track loader comes off the line in Salina, Kansas (rockroadrecycle.com) — Kubota has expanded its Great Plains Manufacturing operations in Salina, bringing assembly of its popular SVL75-3 compact track loader and other construction equipment closer to local workers and dealers. With more than $300 million invested in Salina facilities, officials say the project will add skilled jobs, strengthen the local manufacturing hub, and deepen the city's role in Kubota's North American supply chain.

2. Salina Groups Continue Work on Schilling Air Force Base Cleanup (kclyradio.com) — Local leaders in Salina say they remain committed to cleaning up the former Schilling Air Force Base while protecting nearby neighborhoods, schools, and the city's water supply. Cleanup work is paused while state officials complete a technical review, but recent monitoring shows no immediate threat to drinking water or unsafe exposure for residents around the site.

3. Pavilion Parking Now Open (ksal.com) — Downtown drivers now have a new free parking option at the Salina City Lights Pavilion at Ash and Santa Fe, open whenever events aren't scheduled. The covered space, funded through special parking and TIF funds rather than the city's general fund, also hosts the Farm and Art Market and other performances, offering shade, lighting, and fans for visitors.

4. URGENT: Dog Reportedly Found in Salina Now at Denver Shelter; Search Underway for Owner (salina311.com) — A young Australian Shepherd reported found in Salina is now at a Denver shelter, and locals are being urged to help track down her owner before she becomes eligible for adoption.
