• 29th and Grove Groundwater Cleanup System Moves Closer to Construction (communityvoiceks.com) — A long-awaited groundwater cleanup in northeast Wichita's 29th and Grove area is finally moving toward construction after state approval of Union Pacific's engineering plans. Residents affected by decades of TCE contamination can review well and pipeline locations and ask questions at a KDHE open house on Sept. 12 at Brewer Community Center.
   

• One dead after duplex fire in west Wichita (kansas.com) — One person died Thursday afternoon in a duplex fire in west Wichita's Auburn Hills neighborhood, near Kellogg and South Fivewood. Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze and are investigating, noting the home sits between existing and proposed fire stations after another nearby duplex recently burned.
   

• Radio personality reported missing by Wichita police found safe (kwch.com) — Wichita police say radio personality Phillip "Casey" Osborn, who lives on West Central and works in Hutchinson, has been found safe after officers asked for the public's help checking on his well-being. Osborn, known from several area radio stations, had last been seen at work in Hutchinson before being located.
