- A teen was charged with the accidental shooting of his 3-year-old sibling. Police reported that the sibling was accidentally shot in the home on Orchid St., though the injuries sustained were non-life-threatening. The teen is being charged for negligent injuring and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. (BRProud.com)
- National crime experts are joining local law enforcement to research the cause of gun violence in Baton Rouge. BR Police Chief Murphy Paul announced on Monday a new plan that includes a team of experts to help save lives and stop violence in the city. Whatever information is gathered by the crime experts will become public once it is completed in about five months. (WBRZ)
- A downtown Baton Rouge museum will present an exhibit blending art and social science. The Louisiana Art and Science Museum will have the "In Empathy We Trust" exhibition from Jan. 29 to Oct. 30, an idea developed by E2 photographers Elizabeth Kleinveld and Epaul Julien. It "serves as a catalyst for examination; examination of history, society, and self." (BRProud.com)

- The Louisiana Endoscopy Center staff collected donations for Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge in recognition of Betty White’s 100th birthday. They also posted pictures on the wall of their pets with their “stories." The grand total of the group donation was $1,000. (Facebook)
