- An inmate who escaped from a Baton Rouge area facility has been captured in Bossier City. 23-year-old Shwilliam Cheevis was captured on Monday around 2:15 p.m. and taken into custody without incident. Officials with the Louisiana Department of Corrections say acting on a tip, officers found Cheevis with his girlfriend at an apartment complex on East Texas Street. (WAFB)
- Have too much fruit this year? Volunteers with Baton Rouge Green will harvest the bounty and donate it to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The City Citrus 2021 Pick Event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 11. Anyone who wishes to register their tree or volunteer as a picker can do so on the Baton Rouge Green official website. (The Advocate)
