Baton Rouge Mayor Broome Announces Closure Of City-Parish Buildings

The East Baton Rouge Parish Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will enter into a partial activation at 12:00 p.m.

BATON ROUGE, La. – October 28, 2020 – Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced the closure of all City-Parish buildings — including City Hall and all community centers — at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, due to potential inclement weather from Hurricane Zeta. City-Parish buildings will be restricted to essential personnel only. The East Baton Rouge Parish Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will enter into a partial activation at 12:00 p.m.

The Metropolitan Council meeting scheduled to take place at 4:00 p.m. today is cancelled. There will be a Special Metropolitan Council meeting to consider the levy and adoption of millages and the roll forward of public safety millages on Friday, October 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the Metropolitan Council Chambers, 222 St. Louis Street, Third Floor.
