- Due to expected severe weather today, offices and school districts across Baton Rouge are changing their plans. East Baton Rouge schools have opted for virtual instruction, while West Baton Rouge schools are closing entirely. Additionally, state offices in the Baton Rouge area will shut down at noon today. - A man was fatally shot on Birch Street, just off Scenic Highway, on Monday afternoon. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, 20-year-old Fredrick Harris was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Officials have not yet identified a suspect in Harris' death. (WBRZ)
- The list of possible locations for a new bridge in Baton Rouge has been narrowed down to 10 spots. Members of the Capital Area Road and Bridge District are eager to bring the list down to three options before a Jun. 6 legislative session. The state panel hopes to appeal to Louisiana lawmakers as they consider Governor Bel Edwards' proposal of a $500 million "down payment" on the proposed bridge. (WWNO)
