Here are the top 3 stories in Baton Rouge today:

  1. A high school student created a club hoping to make a difference in peers' lives. James Robinson started the "Be Heard" club where students from different grades meet three times a week to talk about problems they're going through. Robinson said he felt like his school needed a student-led club that allowed students to talk openly about what they were uncomfortable telling adults. (WAFB)
  2. An LSU student was arrested and is facing a felony charge for using the
"anonymous" Yik Yak app to warn of a campus shooter.
Dominic Elick Moore used his friend's phone to post in Yik Yak saying "there's about be an active shooter in the 459 at 6:30." Officials were able to connect him to the 459 dining hall during the timeframe using recorded video surveillance and LSU ID card swipes to enter the building. LSUPD sent out a text after the incident to let the community know they had it under control. Moore is being charged with terrorizing. (WBRZ)
  3. Four people were arrested after participating in a month-long crime spree across Baton Rouge. There were at least five armed robberies and a home invasion involving the four suspects. Jorge Aldari-Menciac, Rommel Zair Banegas-Villela, Ever Alexander Robles-Cordova, and Didier Javier Guardad0-Cardenas were arrested by Baton Rouge police and East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies.
