  2. LSU researchers identified 14 new shrew species on Sulawesi. The research, accumulating into 101 pages, will be a great help to any student studying mammal biodiversity. (NOLA.com)
  3. A Baton Rouge man allegedly killed his wife's dogs after an argument. The wife told police he has a history of violence, and she was involved in a domestic violence situation with him the night before. The man faces two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of illegal discharge of a firearm. (WBRZ)

    • Louisiana State Police released news of an unrestrained driver being killed in a crash in St. Tammany Parish. 22-year-old Allan Linarez's vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and traveled down an embankment. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. (Facebook)
    • Louisiana Public Broadcasting hosted a special encore of "An Evening at the Governor's Mansion: A Christmas Celebration" Tuesday night on LPB hosted by Governor John Bel Edwards and First Lady Donna Edwards. It also featured musical guests, the Preservation Hall All-Stars with Gregg Stafford. (Instagram)
