Both education leaders are excited to start the school year with happy new faces and a chance to bring their unique perspectives and innovative ideas to the youth of Baton Rouge.
“I live by ‘if it’s not broke, don’t try to fix it,’” she said. “Audubon has a strong foundation that we will continue to build on.”

“We will continue to build and grow Audubon to the ‘A’ school Dr. Perkins and I both believe it could be,”Johnson said.
The former associate principal at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, Moore is taking a new role as BRCVPA principal.
“The performing arts can impact a child’s life,” he said. “You can use the arts to reinforce core benchmarks, such as math, science, ELA and social studies.”
“I know this role comes with a great sense of responsibility, and I wanted to step up to the challenge to serve this population of students,” Moore said.
“The students will get to see how everything ties together,” Moore said.
“We are in this together,” Johnson said. “Teaching and learning are products of the effective teachers and exceptional learners who make up Audubon Elementary. So, we will continue to ‘Soar to Higher Heights and Bring our A Game, Game on Eagles!’”
“I understand that education comes first, but we must also utilize the arts in the students’ schooling,” he said. “I won’t settle for mediocre; we are a culture of excellence.”
