  1. A 20-year-old person died after a shooting on Saturday night. The Baton Rouge Police Department said Rashon Franklin died of apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Kentucky Street. (WAFB9)
  2. A former East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) employee was arrested and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile. A spokesperson said Tony Shorts worked in the parish prison, then computer forensics for nearly five years. Police say Shorts stayed at hotels with a juvenile, as well as sent her explicit photographs over Snapchat. (WAFB9)
  3. City officials are considering establishing a new homicide review commission in an effort to reduce violent deaths. East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore III, who is heading the effort, explained the commission is designed to tackle the more complex root causes. (The Advocate)
